Pick Two
In our quest for quality assurance here at MIPH we follow some sage advice from a longtime colleague of mine who ran a very successful printing business. Whenever we are finalizing a product like a poster, brochure, curriculum, print piece, training DVD or web item, we remember his advice:
Whenever you are mass-producing something, remember there are three critical and desirable variables: speed, economy and quality; Pick Two of those three, because that’s all you are going to get!
You can get your product produced fast and cheap, but the quality will suffer.
You can get it produced inexpensively and of high quality, but that will take time.
You can get it produced quickly and of high quality, but it will be expensive.
My point is, up can mix and match the variable, but Pick Two, because that’s all you’re going to get.
One great source of pride we at MIPH feel about our health promotion products was summed up nicely by a client who said, “ At a conference exhibit, I can stand fifteen feet away from a resources table and pick out the MIPH products, because of how professionally and attractive they look. And the content is state-of- the-art public health”.
Knowing we need to Pick Two has served our clients and us very well.
What are your measures for quality assurance in your products development.
