New Resources Available from the
Gambling Problems Resource Center

As someone in Minnesota who works with people who may be experiencing gambling problems, it is important that you are aware of the resources available in Minnesota to help problem gamblers and their families. In the last six years resources for helping people with gambling problems have greatly increased.

More professionals have been trained to help compulsive gamblers and their families, outpatient treatment programs are available in some Minnesota communities and an increasing number of GA and Gam-Anon groups are meeting throughout the state each week. A wide variety of prevention/education materials have been developed: curriculum for middle school and high school youth; trigger videos; programs for parents and adults and a variety of pamphlets and brochures. A call to the Minnesota Compulsive Gambling Hotline, 1-800-437-3641, can connect you with any of the resources. You can also find a current listing of GA and Gam-Anon meetings as well as a number of additional resources on our web site at www.miph.org/gambling.

Please call to order an updated copy of our booklet Gambling: Choices and Guidelines, our new web site sticker or an updated order form for a variety of materials that are available for no cost.
