NEW! WEB-BASED, ONLINE COURSE

The Minnesota Council on Compulsive Gambling's Counseling the Pathological Gambler Phase I & II is now a web-based, online course. This means the course location is at your computer at times that are convenient for you. Scholarships for this 60-hour, accredited course are provided by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) until June 30, 2001. For course goals and objectives, accreditations, tuition, faculty and other course information, please log on to the North American Training Institute Web site at www.nati.org and click online training or contact Lorraine Grymala at 1-888-989-9234. For scholarship information contact Sharon Walp at DHS (651-582-1818) or email sharon.walp@state.mn.us. Once trained, providers can be approved by the state and receive reimbursement for gambling treatment.


WANNA BET?

A Cool Magazine for Kids Concerned About Gambling. The Minnesota Council on Compulsive Gambling has its new edition at www.wannabet.org. Kids from all over the world are logging onto this interactive, by kids-for-kids gambling prevention site. Check it out.


All Bet's Are Off

A training program and related public awareness, provided by the Minnesota Council on Compulsive Gambling, has now reached over 56,000 Minnesota youngsters. Check out the web site at www.nati.org or call Lorraine Grymala (218-722-1503) to schedule a youth gambling prevention program for your school, PTA or youth organization. We will provide six presentations at locations throughout Minnesota between now and June 30, 2001.


New Wave Training

A professional training program for treating the gambler and the gambler's family. Now offering 30 hours, 60 hours, and one day training approved by the National and American Compulsive Gambling Certification Boards. For more information call Judy Gaskill at 218-722-2273.
